Press Release
Jonathan Dela Cruz Named Regional Director of the North Central U.S. at the National Student ClearinghouseŽ
Herndon, VA, July 27, 2010 - The National Student Clearinghouse has
appointed Jonathan Dela Cruz as its regional director of the North Central
United States. The Clearinghouse, a non-profit organization, is the nation's
trusted source for degree and enrollment information and provides reporting,
verification, and research services for more than 3,300 colleges and
universities. Mr. Dela Cruz began his appointment on July 19, 2010.
As the North Central regional director, Mr. Dela Cruz reports to Cameron
Howell, assistant vice president of Higher Education Development, and
handles Clearinghouse relationships with colleges and universities in
Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska,
North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
"Jonathan is a welcome
addition to the Clearinghouse team. His insight into college administration
from his campus-based experience in both admissions and financial aid will
be a considerable asset in his new role," said Howell. "As is his
proven track record in forging strong relationships with colleges and
universities, many in the same states he will oversee in his work for the
Clearinghouse."
"Having spent many years on college campuses, I understand the
positive impact Clearinghouse services have on a school's staff and budget,
both of which are often stretched too thin," said Dela Cruz. "I'm
excited to form relationships with the schools of the North Central region
and to help them make the most of their resources."
Mr. Dela Cruz has more than 15 years' experience spanning college
admissions and financial aid as well as client relationship management.
Before joining the Clearinghouse, Mr. Dela Cruz was an account executive at
Access Group, Inc., and prior to that he was an account manager at Chase
Education Finance. He possesses a wealth of campus-based experience from his
service as a student loan officer at the University of Chicago, an
admissions officer at Elmhurst College, and a regional director of
enrollment management for Seton Hall University. He has a B.A. in
Communications from Dominican University in Illinois.
